The company:
Our client is not the usual startup incubator. Started as a disruptive idea of creating startups from scratch by focusing first on the team and its potential. This turned out to be a leading, fast growing and highly effective startup incubator in Europe. They invest in the best talents and made it their mission to find them.
The opportunity:
Next to initiating and facilitating startups, our client is launching several venture funds that will look into investing startups and other strategic companies. The general manager is the person charge of the funds, the portfolio’s companies and the startup's overall performance.
As the next General Partne, you are responsible for:
Driving and making the key decisions with respect to the ventures that are strategic for the expansion of our client’s funds, such as:
Discover investment opportunities and potential acquisition targets;
Assist with fundraising and fund creation;
Manage all stages of venture investments, across various industries, including valuation, due diligence, deal negotiation, deal shaping and arrange all the necessary documentation to support a successful transactions process;
Help portfolio companies with future funding, development and strategic initiatives;
Creation of financial models for individual start-ups and the venture capital portfolio as a whole;
Evaluate the ongoing performance of the portfolio investments;
Work closely with the executive team on strategy, fundraising and negotiations;
Develop relationships with portfolio companies and ensure their progress against benchmarks, exit analysis and business plan execution;
Be part of the board of directors;
Lead and mentor the team of analysts.
You have:
Have at least 5 years of Venture Capital experience at the senior level or similar;
Master a deep understanding of revenue growth, cost reduction and valuation processes;
Have deal shaping experience and successful post deal integration experience;
Excellent understanding of financial models;
Be able to process information with accuracy and attention to detail;
Be highly motivated to build a global franchise;
Have a desire to work in a flat and flexible organization .
